Hello,

I am writing to you to express some disappointment about the 2007 X-Prize Cup relative to the 2006 event. I enjoyed this years event far less than last years due to a number of reasons, some of which I understand may be beyond your control.

First of all, the reduced number of high-powered rocket launches and static engine tests was quite disappointing. Also, the experience of the launches was greatly diminished at the new venue, I assume because they were a longer distance away. There was almost no sound at all from the high-powered launches, sound is one of the most exciting aspects of attending a rocket launch.

Secondly, and probably the single most frustrating issue that led to my reduced enjoyment was the lack of a covered pavilion to sit and eat lunch. Last year there was not only a covered pavilion, but a beer garden. It was extremely disappointing to not find the same this year. To make things much worse, I was able to find a covered pavilion with food and good beer being served, only to be turned away and told it was for air show employees only.

And a final thing  that I found disappointing was the lack of a reported to do video interviews on the jumbotron.

I really want the X-Prize cup to flourish and I will attend it in the future. However, there were moments were I was considering no coming back in 2008 and I know some of my friends probably will not. I hope that you consider my input when planning next years event.

Best Regards,

Byron Appelt
